COMMUNING WITH MR. SCHMIDT

Darn.  My work requires two days indoors in an old stone mansion high above the Hudson while it rains outside.  More later.

That's a great placement of the lantern at the front door, infront of the transom and within the deep doorway to throw the light where it is most needed. And a great outbuilding, too!

Your hardships are plentiful and burdensome.

Nice to know the truck made it.

What is the difference between a mansion and a house? Watever you calls it, its rather grand!

I would kill for that yard--grass bordered by a stone wall with the woods beyond. The ground seems to slope away, so there must be great views from the house and yard.

It's amazing how a drop of rain can make stonework even more beautiful. Why would you want to be inside when you could be outside playing in the rain?

Lovely home and yes as others have remarked this certainly must be taxing work ;>

If the Mott Schmidt 'site' is correct then Hillcrest was only built in 1962. The lovely execution is more in keeping with manor homes built a generation prior.
