Why I'm Not Blogging Much---Blogger Can You Hear Me?

About three weeks ago, something caused pictures to not upload from Blogger on my laptop. They simply won't. I can upload from my office computer, but of course when I'm at work, I'm not blogging, but rather---surprisingly---working. Work, as we all know, can be distracting, and definitely interferes with fun, blogging for example.

I suspect the culprit is some new anti-spyware installed on my laptop around the same time as the uploading problem began. My laptop is otherwise configured pretty exactly like my office desktop. Blogger, of course has no direct live help----'help' is 'community based', and two pleas for help have only turned up other people with the same problem, no one with workable solutions. I have ventured deep into my anti-spyware settings to try to find the source, and I have googled myself silly trying for an answer--well, okay, I was silly before the googling, but you know what I mean.

So, lately, there has been no posting pictures and writing about them as I get up in the morning.

Most tiresome.

  1. Most annoying! Reggie is sympathetic, and nervous that he may soon experience the same thing, which, thank goodness, he has not . . . yet. I continue to be bedeviled by spacing and fonts sizes irritatingly changing arbitrarily about within a post, but that's it. Good luck solving your puzzle as I, and your other loyal readers, look forward to your happy return (with images). RD

  2. I have exactly the same tiresome problem, so I go into work half an hour earlier and prepare the blogging material on the work computer. As long as you are not using paid work time for your own personal use, I can't see anything wrong with that.

But as for home computers being "user friendly".. ha! They are not!

Stupid question: Have you considered uninstalling the anti-spyware software?

(You could always add it back on -- or some other, similar product.)

  5. Reggie, the blogger software is maddening that way

Hels, I am my own boss, so that's not the problem...it's more time available, and location. Home at the breakfast table, I'm inspired. At work, I'm busy and distracted, and if I go in earlier, I'm only distracted earlier

    Raina, aw shucks

Ancient, I'm not certain that it's the anti-virus software---it's just an educated guess since the problem happened after I installed it. I have tried disabling it, to no effect.

  11. Decor Arts--thanks so much---coincidentally, I've pretty much decided to go to Word Press, which indeed is easier to use, with a much better (and larger) text editor. Knowing that they have real tech support is icing on the cake. I'd experimentally exported Dilettante to Wordpress a few months ago, and should have continued on.

  12. I'm ready to leave Blogger too, but found that if you go to 'Settings', scroll to the bottom and check 'Old Blogger' that you can load pictures without a problem. Well there IS the problem that they all load at the top of the post and if they aren't in the right order you have to get yourself into the html to cut and paste thigs around. Funny how they ignore my threats to leave...
