Once again, for those who may ever have wondered why Maine has 'Summer People' not 'Spring People', I present the answer.  It's the middle of April, for crying out loud.  Even with our lowered Spring expectations, this is cruel.

Ever wonder why Yankees are dour?  Wonder no longer.  Apparently April is the New March up here.

In other news, the Maine lobster branding thing sometimes goes beyond the t-shirts and key chains.  these were spotted in a local grocery store.  Yuck. The 'Lobster Tracks' ice cream can be found in another aisle.  Since when is 1/2 cup a single serving of ice cream?  Puhleeze.  When was the last time you saw a 1/2 cup carton of ice cream?

So nice they priced it twice.

Just don't look at our (Atlanta) forecast if you want to stay chipper. We're covered in yellow pine pollen and got weeks to go yet before we can open windows – not that I dare complain given your circumstances. I'm sending you a pick-you-up by email.

Your only consolation for the bad weather is that at least you won't need to get out to buy more Lobster Bisque potato chips or Lobster Tracks ice cream.

I think those chips would actually be good -I'd buy them! I have a bit of a chip fetish though. But lobster ice cream? ew.

I wonder if Giffords borrowed the idea from Ben and Bills in Bar Harbor. I tasted it there, not a bad flvor and hard to decipher.

I had to crank up the air conditioning in the country this afternoon.

I know you wanted to hear that,

Oak tree pollen. It is covering everything, and when I get that tickle in my throat, it seems it is in there, too. But, all the blooms are beautiful - and thankfully no ice pellets.

It seems no lobsters were harmed in the making of those chips. A quarter cup would probably be my serving of that particular ice cream. However, I could go for a few lobster rolls from Northeast Harbor just about any time.
